“Each of those 26 contributions by artists are quite deep and heavy and substantive.” – Hammer Museum curator Aram Moshayedi
‘Made in L.A.’ is back at the Hammer Museum for it’s third installation. For those who have missed it in the past, ‘Made in L.A.’ is a recurring biennial exhibit that has taken up residency at the Hammer Museum.
Made in L.A. 2016: a, the, though, only strives to highlight the underrated and underrepresented side of L.A. painters, sculptors, filmmakers and more. Although the exhibit features artists based in Los Angeles, the artists come from a variety of international backgrounds. This year’s lineup includes Huguette Caland (Lebanon), Laida Lertxundi (Spain) and Shahryar Nashat (Switzerland). See the gallery for a look at some of the participants’ work.
Made in L.A. 2012. Organized by Anne Ellegood and Ali Subotnick (Hammer), and our neighbors Lauri Firstenberg, Malik Gaines, and Cesar Garcia of LA >< ART.
Opens: June 12
Closes: August 28
